Manon Tremblay

Visual Arts | Painter | Illustrator

Responsible for the children’s painting workshop

Manon Tremblay was born in 1973 in Sept-Îles on the North Shore of Quebec, Canada. At the age of 10, she participated in a national drawing contest organized by the agency “Sous-le-bon-toit” and won first prize.

Her drawing would later become the logo and emblem of the agency. During her high school years in Sept-Îles, the “commission scolaire du fer” (school board) hired her to illustrate various documents while she continued her studies. From 1998 to 1999, she joined “La patente,” an amateur theater troupe, where she discovered another talent: set design and assembly. In 1999, she moved to Montreal to pursue studies in computer graphics.

From 2005 to 2010, she was part of the “CE de l’école Lajoie” and actively contributed to the illustration and layout of various promotional materials for the elementary school. In 2007, she set up an art workshop for the “Dominique-Savio,” a center for troubled youth, which was a great success. From 2008 to 2009, she focused on a new project: “The Great Painters of The Big Apple, from 1950 to the present.” This led to an article in La Presse in August 2009 titled “Like in New York.”

In 2015, she returned to her roots, and her artwork “La bête noire,” centered around caribous, was associated with the renowned Innu poet Rita Mestokosho during the Sept-Îles Book Fair. Caribous and animals of the far north have been her main source of inspiration, and they will be the theme of her upcoming exhibition.
